You have to give 14 days notice in writing to the insurer whose address is in the policy documents. Again there is no charge

Can I have fractures and accidental death benefit on their own?
No, you can only have fractures with accident or accident and sickness cover

Do I need a medical examination?
No, because pre-existing conditions are not covered, then at point of claim the insurer will contact your GP.
Does it cover me for playing football/rugby?
Yes as long as you are unpaid and it is a hobby
Does it cover me for riding a motorcycle or horse?
Again as long as it is only a hobby and you are not involved in any competitive event or race
Does it cover me for unemployment?
No, it is purely for Accident or Accident and Sickness
However we can offer a combined policy that will cover Unemployment

How long does the policy last?
Up to retirement age

How long does the policy payout for?
The policy is flexible offering from 12 weeks cover to 104 weeks, 104 weeks is the maximum single claim
How many times can I claim?
As many times as you need to ,as long as you continue to pay the premiums, 104 weeks maximum single claim.
If I am claiming do I have continue to pay the premium?
Yes , if your claim is for accident or accident and sickness cover
In the event of a claim under the accidental death benefit the policy will cease after settlement
Is Accident and Sickness cover the same as Income Protection?
Accident and sickness cover is a short term option paying out for up to 24 months
Income protection will pay out until chosen retirement age between 50 and 70
Is the benefit tax free?
Yes

What does deferment period mean?
That is the amount of time you have to be continuously off work before you can claim,certified by a doctor
You cannot change your deferment period it is rated by the risk of your occupation
What happens if I go back to work and I am ill again with the same condition?
If you have claimed for 104 weeks then you cannot claim
If you were off ,say, for three months and went back to work for two weeks and were ill again then the deferment period would not apply and the period would count towards the 104 week maximum
What happens next?
Once we have completed the application form it is sent to head office who will process it on your behalf
Subject to your application being accepted ,you will be on cover within 24 hours of us receiving your application
You will receive your policy documents within 7 to 14 days
What happens when I have claimed for 104 weeks?
You have to be back at work for 6 continuous months before you can make another claim
What if I change my job?
Inform us and we will amend your occupation class and premium
What if I decide not to go ahead?
You have a 14 day cooling off period where you can change your mind
You will not be charged for the service
What if I receive Statutory Sick pay?
The tax free benefit will be paid in addition to your SSP
What if my occupation is not listed?
You can fill in the enquiry form or tell us, we will get back to you with terms. We will always try to get you cover.
What is the maximum benefit I can have?
